Keep the Text Chat Going In Fortnite and Beyond

Starting today, keep your Fortnite conversations going with friends. Your DM and group text chats now sync across Fortnite, and the Epic Games Store and new Epic Games mobile apps on iOS. Text chat will come to the Epic Games Launcher and Android apps in January. 

Update (January 23, 2026): Text chat is now available on the Epic Games Launcher, and the Epic Games Store and Epic Games mobile apps on Android.

Messages remain visible for 30 days wherever you’re logged in across your devices so you can debrief after a match, plan your next move, or just chat it up with the squad.

You can find your text chats, friend requests, and friends list in the redesigned sidebar in Fortnite. Parental controls, text reporting, and the personal information and mature language filters will continue to work just as they did before.
