Fortnite BR C6S2 Competitive Details - New And Improved Compete Tab!

Competitors,

Chapter 6 Season 2 of Fortnite Battle Royale is here! With this new Season comes an overhauled Compete tab that makes it easier to see upcoming tournaments, the rewards they offer, and your place among other competitors in the same tournament. It also adds the ability to bookmark tournaments you’re interested in! We’re excited to make the Fortnite Competitive experience more convenient, so let’s explore the updates in detail:

Overhauled Compete Tab in Fortnite Battle Royale

Weekly View

By default, the updated Compete tab shows you all the competitive offerings happening in the current week. In the top-right corner, you can select filters to narrow down the events you see. You can select:

  • Experience: Whether you want to see Battle Royale events, Zero Build events, or both.

  • Team Size: Whether you want to see Solo, Duos, Trios, or Squads events — or any combination of these!

  • Region: Whether you want to see events in the NA-East, NA-Central, NA-West, Oceania, Asia, Middle East, Europe, or Brazil server region.

  • Tournament Type: Whether you want to see FNCS events, Cash Cups, Victory Cups, Ranked Cups, Shop Cups, Performance Evaluations, or other Cups — or any combination of these!

  • Eligibility: Whether you want to see events you're eligible for, ineligible for, or both. (An example of an event you’re ineligible for is an event you haven’t met the rank or level requirement for.)

The weekly view conveniently displays your local region’s start time for each event.

Monthly View

Navigate directly down from the weekly view to enter the monthly view. In the monthly view, you can get a glimpse of what kind of events are happening each day of the currently selected month:

  • Cash Cups

  • Shop Cups

  • FNCS Events

  • Victory Cups

  • Performance Evaluations

  • Ranked Cups

Your chosen filters will apply here, meaning you’ll only see the kind of events you want to see in your selected region. If you’re interested in any and all Cash Cups, for example, the Cash Cup symbol will be highlighted on every day that a Cash Cup is happening. However, if you’re only interested in Solo Battle Royale Cash Cups, the symbol will only be highlighted on days that a Solo Battle Royale Cash Cup is happening.

After clicking on a day, you’ll enter the weekly view where you can see what events are happening that day, and you can scroll to the days ahead and before. Of course, your filters will apply in the weekly view too, so if you only want to see Solo Battle Royale Cash Cups, that’s what you’ll see!

Planning ahead? You can change the month in the monthly view, but keep in mind: events that Epic hasn’t revealed yet won’t be reflected in the monthly or weekly view.

Event Pages

Every event has a page where you can immediately see:

  • Your local region’s start time for the event.

  • If applicable, when each session and round of the event is happening.

  • What the cash and/or cosmetic rewards are for the event, per final placement.

    • For example: what the cash prize is for first place, second place, etc.

  • Upon scrolling down, the description (“details”) of the event.

  • Upon scrolling down, what the scoring breakdown will be.

    • For example: how many points you’ll earn for getting a Victory Royale in a match, 2nd place in a match, etc.

From the event page, you can bookmark the event so you’ll be notified of it in Fortnite starting 24 hours before it starts. This notification takes the form of a countdown and you’ll see it in the Lobby of any Ranked experience.

Event Leaderboards

Leaderboards were in the Compete tab before and largely work the same way, but they’ve been given a massive visual upgrade! For those new to Competitive, we’ll give a rundown of how leaderboards work.

An event’s leaderboard is accessible from the event page, and shows you the points threshold you need to cross to qualify for the event’s reward(s) or to qualify for the next round.

Winners of an event round are usually determined by: Who are the top points-earning players in each region when the round is done? For example, let’s say there’s a round where the top 50 points-earning squads in NA-East will qualify for the next round. The points required to be in the top 50 will constantly change based on how many points the current top 50 amass. Therefore, the threshold will change a lot too, so it’s good to keep an eye on it.

Of course, there’s more to keeping track of your opponents than just seeing what the current points threshold is. In the leaderboard, you can see the current ranking of each opponent, how many matches they’ve played, and how many points they have.

This information provides useful context on the competition. Is a squad at #50, and they’ve played the maximum number of matches, AND they’re only a few points ahead of your squad? Then you know they’ll probably be easy to pass so your squad can get into the top 50. Is an opponent at #1, and they’re WAY ahead of #50 and even #10? Then you know the skill ceiling of the top 50 is high and that you’ll probably have tough competition in the next round.

Clicking on an opponent (that is, an individual or team, depending on the event’s team size) will tell you more details like:

  • Number of Victory Royales

  • Average number of eliminations

  • Average match placement

  • Average points

  • Points from eliminations

  • Points from match placement

Chapter 6 Season 2 Tournament Updates

The Compete tab has Chapter 6 Season 2 events slated on the calendar — waiting for you to learn about and bookmark when downtime for v34.00 ends!

For Chapter 6 Season 2, we’ll be continuing the same formats, schedule, and prizing you’re familiar with from Chapter 6 Season 1.

We have a minor update to share for Divisional Cups. We already announced competitors would begin Season 2 already seeded, based on past performance. To elaborate on this, Division 1 players who progress into a Major’s Group Stage or Finals will stay in Division 1. To fill the division to 600 players total, the remaining placements will be in order of the best result in the cumulative leaderboard of any of the Division 1 weekly events or Play-In.

Promotion each week from Division 2 to 1 has doubled for each region. Anybody who qualified to Division 2 in Chapter 6 Season 1 or has been relegated from Division 1 will begin there. Promotion each week from Division 3 will remain at the same numbers.

As always, not every event happening during Chapter 6 Season 2 will be on the calendar when the Season begins. Keep an eye on the Compete tab and our social channels for new offerings!

Competitive Fortnite FAQ

What version of Siphon will be in Chapter 6 Season 2 tournaments?

Like last Season, the version of Siphon in C6S2 tournaments will be 75 Health over 5 seconds. This includes FNCS Major 2.

Where online can I find the tournament schedule and rules library?

Even with the updated Compete tab, the tournament schedule on fortnite.com/competitive will remain — findable under “Calendar.” However, the calendar in the updated Compete tab will have more comprehensive details on each tournament.

You can find the rules library at fortnite.com/competitive under “Rules & Guidelines.”

Can I compete in multiple server regions this Season?

For non-FNCS events, players can compete in any region they want. For FNCS Major 2, players are only eligible to participate in one region for the entire Major. This means once you participate in the Play-In in a particular region, you’re locked to that region for the Group Stage, Last Chance Qualifier (if applicable), and Major Finals.

What is the best way to report a suspected cheater in tournaments?

Please report any suspicious activity through the reporting tools in Fortnite and through our official Tournament Support Discord server. (You can also use this Discord server to report any tournament issues or bugs experienced during tournament gameplay.)
